Last updated: 16 September 2026

These terms and conditions apply to all electrical work, inspections and related services provided by FindElectrician.co.uk Ltd, trading as Find Electrician and DIM Electrical Services (“we”, “us”, “our”). Please read them carefully. By accepting a quote, booking work or submitting an enquiry through our website, you agree to these terms.

1. About us

FindElectrician.co.uk Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 15132261), with its registered office at 182 Villiers Road, London NW2 5PU. We are NAPIT-accredited (Membership No. 65117). You can contact us by phone on 07447 569653 or by email at contact@findelectrician.co.uk.

2. Enquiries and quotations

  • Submitting an enquiry through our website does not create a contract. It simply allows us to contact you about your requirements.
  • Our quotes are based on the information provided and, where applicable, a site visit. The quote will set out the work included, the price and any payment terms.
  • Quotes are valid for the period stated on the quote. If no period is stated, they are valid for 30 days.
  • If hidden defects, unsafe existing wiring or additional work are discovered once work begins, we will explain the issue and agree any extra cost with you before carrying it out, unless immediate action is needed to make the installation safe.

3. Accepting a quote and booking work

A contract is formed when you accept our quote in writing (including by email or message) or ask us to start work. We will agree a start date with you and do our best to keep to it, but dates may occasionally change because of factors outside our control, such as material availability, weather or illness. We will let you know as soon as possible if this happens.

4. Your right to cancel (consumers)

If you are a consumer and the contract is agreed away from our business premises or at a distance (for example by phone, email or online), you normally have the right to cancel within 14 days of the contract being made, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. To cancel, contact us using the details above.

If you ask us to start work within the 14-day cancellation period and then cancel, you may have to pay for the work carried out up to the point you told us you wanted to cancel. If the work has been fully completed at your request, the right to cancel may no longer apply.

5. Prices and payment

  • Prices and payment terms are set out in your quote or invoice.
  • Where a deposit is required, for example to order materials, this will be stated on your quote.
  • Invoices must be paid by the date shown on the invoice.
  • Materials supplied by us remain our property until they have been paid for in full.
  • If payment is overdue, we may pause further work and, for business customers, charge interest and recovery costs as allowed under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

6. Access and your responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Give our engineers safe and reasonable access to the property, and a power supply where needed
  • Tell us about any known hazards, including asbestos, before work starts
  • Obtain any permissions needed, such as landlord, freeholder or listed building consent
  • Clear the work areas, or tell us if you need help moving items
  • Keep children and pets away from the work area

7. Standards and certification

All electrical work is carried out in line with BS 7671 (the IET Wiring Regulations) and, where relevant, other British Standards such as BS 5839 for fire alarm systems. Once the work is complete and paid for, we will issue the appropriate certificate or report, such as an Electrical Installation Certificate, a Minor Works Certificate or an Electrical Installation Condition Report. Where the law requires it, notifiable work will be registered with Building Control through our competent person scheme.

8. Guarantee

We guarantee our workmanship for the period stated on your quote or invoice. Manufacturers’ warranties apply to equipment we supply. The guarantee does not cover faults caused by misuse, accidental damage, alterations by others, lack of maintenance, or existing wiring and equipment that we have not worked on.

If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including your right to have services carried out with reasonable care and skill.

9. Existing installations and inspections

Inspection and testing, including EICRs, reports on the condition of an installation at the time of the visit. It is not a guarantee against future faults. Some parts of an installation may not be accessible without causing damage, and any limitations will be recorded on the report. If we find anything dangerous, we may need to make it safe or isolate it immediately to protect you and others.

10. Liability

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaching these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or, for business customers, for loss of profit, loss of business or indirect loss. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

11. Complaints

If you are unhappy with our work, please contact us first at contact@findelectrician.co.uk so we can put things right. As a NAPIT-registered contractor, if we cannot resolve your complaint, you may also be able to refer it to NAPIT.

12. Privacy

We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your work is the one in force when you accepted your quote. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
