Fire Alarm Commissioning & Servicing in London
Our fire alarm servicing keeps your system reliable and compliant, because detectors, batteries and panels wear out over time. In addition, we commission new systems to prove they work before handover.
For example, we service systems in homes, HMOs, offices, shops and warehouses across London. As a result, your logbook stays up to date, and your fire risk assessor and insurer have the records they need.

What our fire alarm servicing includes
Every fire alarm servicing visit follows BS 5839. Therefore, nothing is missed and your records are complete.
Detector testing
First, we test detectors with the right equipment, because each one must respond to smoke or heat.
Sounders and call points
Next, we check sounders, beacons and call points, so everyone can hear the alarm.
Panel and batteries
Then, we also check the panel, zones, fault signals and standby batteries.
Fault finding
In addition, we find and fix faults and, for example, the cause of false alarms.
Logbook and certificate
After that, we update your logbook and issue a servicing certificate.
Commissioning
Finally, for new systems, we commission every device before handover.
Fire alarm servicing to BS 5839
For non-domestic buildings, BS 5839-1:2025 recommends fire alarm servicing at intervals of approximately six months. In particular, the 2025 edition allows a visit between five and seven months after the last one.
In addition, the user should test a different call point every week and record it. For homes, BS 5839-6 also recommends regular testing, therefore landlords should keep clear records.
Commissioning, servicing and repairs
Our fire alarm servicing covers the whole life of your system. For example:
Commissioning
First, full testing of a new or modified system, because it must be proven before handover.
Routine servicing
Also, regular visits under a servicing contract, so your system stays compliant.
Takeovers and repairs
In addition, we can take over systems installed by other companies.
Who needs fire alarm servicing?

When do you need fire alarm servicing?
In short, book fire alarm servicing when:

- Also, your system has not been serviced in six months
- The panel shows faults or, alternatively, gives false alarms
- You have taken over a building and, therefore, have no records
- Your assessor or insurer asks for proof of maintenance
