What our house rewiring includes
Every house rewiring job is planned room by room. Therefore, you know exactly what will happen and when.
Survey and circuit plan
First, we inspect the existing wiring and agree where you want sockets, lights and switches.
First fix
Next, we run new cables and fit back boxes, usually before plastering, so the finish stays clean.
New consumer unit
We also fit a metal RCBO consumer unit with surge protection, because a new installation needs modern protection.
Second fix
After that, we fit sockets, switches and lights. In addition, we connect cookers, showers and other appliances.
Testing every circuit
Then, we test each circuit, so the whole installation is proven safe before we leave.
EIC and Part P
Finally, you receive an Electrical Installation Certificate, and we notify the work through NAPIT.
House rewiring to BS 7671
We carry out every rewire to BS 7671, because these are the UK wiring regulations. In particular, Amendment 4:2026 fully replaces the previous edition on 15 October 2026.
A rewire is also notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations. Therefore, we register every house rewiring job through NAPIT, so you receive a Building Regulations compliance certificate.
Full or partial house rewiring?
Not every home needs a full rewire. For example, a kitchen refurbishment may only need new circuits in one room.
Full rewire
This replaces all the wiring, because the whole installation is old or unsafe. It is often best done when the property is empty.
Partial rewire
This replaces the wiring in some rooms or circuits, for example a kitchen, bathroom or extension.
Refurbishments
In addition, we work alongside builders, so the rewire fits around plastering and decorating.

When does a home need rewiring?
In short, you should book a survey when:
- You still have rubber, lead or, for example, fabric-covered cables
- There are old round-pin sockets or, for example, a wooden fuse box
- An EICR has also given C1 or C2 codes for the wiring
- Lights flicker or, alternatively, sockets feel warm or scorched
- You are renovating and, therefore, the walls are already open

How long does a rewire take?
